Featured Programs

At SFC we offer several fencing programs that include a combination of private lessons, group classes, strip lessons, camps, open bouting and tournaments for different levels of skills and ages.

Youth & Beginner

beginner-program

Youth and beginner programs are designed to introduce you to the sport of fencing with basic fundamentals covering footwork, handwork, distance control as well as simple tactics and techniques.

Intermediate

intermediate-program

Fencers in the intermediate level must have general understanding of saber fencing and have mastered basic skill of blade work and footwork in the youth/beginner classes.

Elite

Accomplishment 1

Our Elite Training Program is for competitive fencers who want to bring their fencing to the highest possible level and are required to compete on national and international level.

Our fencer has been training with Coach Achiko for 6 years and we couldn’t be happier with Scarsdale Fencing Center. The facilities, staff, and fencing community of parents and families is wonderful! The club itself is modern and easy to access by car (and metronorth, which is great for older students who can travel alone). Coaches Achiko and Maksim are top-notch and provide excellent coaching during private lessons and at tournaments. Their holiday camps and group classes are a great for beginners and elite fencers alike. The club is welcoming of all fencers and the coaches take pride in supporting each individual fencer to be their best.

Scarsdale fencing center is a bright modern fencing club with top notch instructors. My two boys have been coached by Achiko Lortkipanidze for 6 years and they have grown from beginner fencers to top ranked in the country and being recruited for Div 1 colleges. More importantly than their success is how Coach Achicko supports them even when they fail and ensures they keep their love of the sport.

Scarsdale Fencing Center is a modern, top tier club, with amazing coaches running an incredible program. My daughter has been Coach Achiko's student since she was 9 years old (for over 3 years). He's incredibly nurturing, extremely proactive, and has an amazing relationship with her (she refers to him as her "Fencing Dad"). All of the coaches at the club care greatly about their students in a holistic sense, making sure they're not just physically, but also mentally, prepared for the challenges of the competitive sport of fencing.
