Summer Nationals 2026 — Here We Come!

The SFC team has officially arrived in Portland!

Over the next nine days, 42 SFC athletes—21 girls and 21 boys—will compete in 19 events, from Veterans to Y10, proudly representing our club on the national stage.

We wish the very best of luck to every one of our fencers. Fence with courage, compete with integrity, respect every opponent, support your teammates, and most importantly—enjoy the experience. Stay present, stay focused, and remember that the journey is just as important as the destination. The medals matter, but the lessons, friendships, and memories will last much longer.

A special thank you to our incredible coaching team for their dedication, passion, and countless hours preparing our athletes throughout the season for this final national competition. Your commitment makes all the difference.

We’ll be sharing results, photos, and highlights throughout the competition here on WhatsApp to keep everyone updated. Be sure to follow us on Instagram for daily stories and behind-the-scenes moments.

Let’s finish the season strong—and above all, let’s make memories that will last a lifetime.

Session 1 is done. Session 2 starts now.
Six days of work wrapped up at Scarsdale Fencing Center — and there’s no break. Session 2 kicks off while our fencers in Portland take the strip at Summer Nationals. The camp never stops. Neither do we. ⚔️
Day 5. Two locations. Full send.

Older fencers at Fencers Club, youth fencers at Scarsdale Fencing Center. Pre-Summer Nationals Camp is in its final stretch — and no one is letting up. ⚔️
Day 4. Full house — as always.

Every fencer together at Scarsdale Fencing Center. This is what Pre-Summer Nationals Camp looks like. ⚔️

What People Are Saying About SFC

Good fencing club!
World class instruction by the most knowledgeable, kind, patient, empathetic and encouraging coaches. SFC manages to prepare students for the toughest of competitions while maintaining a feeling of family and friendship among members in the club.
Really beautiful Fencing Hall with state-of-the-art equipment. Allot of natural light. World-class coaching by both Maestros. Very nice people and great fencers.
Our fencer has been training with Coach Achiko for 6 years and we couldn’t be happier with Scarsdale Fencing Center. The facilities, staff, and fencing community of parents and families is wonderful! The club itself is modern and easy to access by car (and metronorth, which is great for older students who can travel alone). Coaches Achiko and Maksim are top-notch and provide excellent coaching during private lessons and at tournaments. Their holiday camps and group classes are a great for beginners and elite fencers alike. The club is welcoming of all fencers and the coaches take pride in supporting each individual fencer to be their best.
Scarsdale Fencing Center may be new but Coaches Maxim and Achiko (friends and teammates since their early teens) have a wealth of experience training their students with many becoming highly accomplished fencers earning national and international recognition. My daughter has been Achiko’s student for over 6 years starting from the age of 8. What I noticed from the very beginning was Achiko’s fine attention to technique, always adjusting his students’ form and footwork. This lays crucial groundwork for success at older ages where strategy is key and where experienced opponents easily take advantage of sloppy form and footwork. Achiko and Maxim at Scarsdale Fencing Center don’t just teach fencing moves but have a cohesive methodology encompassing technique, footwork and strategies. Achiko is a dedicated coach providing emotional and mental support, always checking in with my daughter after her bad and good days. I highly recommend Scarsdale Fencing Center and Coaches Maxim and Achiko!
Scarsdale Fencing Club is new and elegant, but this club is special because of the people; the coaches and the community. With compassion, coaches Achiko and Maxim guide fencers to be at their highest level. The coaches emphasize discipline and diligence, and inspire fencers to love the sport. The community - both fencers and parents - is wonderful. Our boys have formed a strong bond with other fencers, who are incredibly supportive and caring. The parents are very helpful, and our family is absolutely thrilled to be part of this club.
This review is long overdue.....my daughter has trained with Coach Achiko for 9 years and Coach Maksim since SFC began. You will not find finer coaches (or people) anywhere in the world. They are also very selective in any new coaches they bring in (as they have very high standards), and all have been amazing as well. The vibe and atmosphere at the club is highly sought after and extremely rare, as nearly every time I drive the girls carpool home from practice, they all rave and gush about how fun it is and how it's one of the best parts of their weeks. The girls genuinely love going to their weekly practices at SFC. The community -- families and kids -- are all kind, helpful, and welcoming. The kids help the other kids. The parents help the other parents. Everyone "pays it forward". SFC combines world class coaching, personalized attention, team-oriented family feel, great facilities, stability, and a nurturing growth/competitive environment for kids to learn and progress. I'd recommend SFC 100% without a doubt to anyone looking to try out fencing. Bravo!
Scarsdale Fencing Center is a modern, top tier club, with amazing coaches running an incredible program. My daughter has been Coach Achiko's student since she was 9 years old (for over 3 years). He's incredibly nurturing, extremely proactive, and has an amazing relationship with her (she refers to him as her "Fencing Dad"). All of the coaches at the club care greatly about their students in a holistic sense, making sure they're not just physically, but also mentally, prepared for the challenges of the competitive sport of fencing. Our family is extremely happy to be a part of this club and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in fencing.
My daughter started earlier this year, and she is having a lot of fun! Her coach Achiko is one of the best Saber coaches, and the other SFC coaches are also outstanding. All the coaches are experienced and great with kids who may be shy or anxious about starting a new sport.
World class coaches, a great group of kids, modern and clean facilities, and the results! SFC students consistently place high in regional, national and international competitions, and the school has an excellent track record of college placement. We love it! (can you tell?)
